heaven & co

After a long day at work, it feels good to come home to a family that wonders about me and how work was for me ... and if I got paid yet or not. haha. This Friday has been somewhat cool.

Blessed. I get to go to Passion 2013 for free! I'm excited!

- I think the cool thing about where I work is that I get to communicate with hundreds of people each day. It's actually very cool. When I end work, these people run through my mind as I "reflect" ... haha. I tend to do it a lot. There was this adorable boy with some sort of accent. I wanna say it was a British one, but I can't really tell at all. It made me start talking in an accent too. haha! There was a cute little boy that asked for napkins, a BUNCH of women that came to order ice cream. There was definitely a lot of 'em. There was also this crazy lady who complained because we mixed up her order with another and accidentally charged 20 on her account --- my bad. :P I felt horrible ... haha. Right when we were about to close, a group of high schoolers ran up in their homecoming attire. It's very cool to see the kind of people that are out there. It's "such a small world," but it's really not.

- Gotta finish up my homework tonight so that I won't have to rush it all in tomorrow night. My essay needs to be written ... now.

That's it.

*sigh. I have to work today ... but there will be a sense of comfort knowing that Yeng will be starting his new job today right "across the road." We have the same hours too ... kinda.

Parents are at church. Chris is out. Home will be empty today. Time to go get ready. :)

- Just got back from the Kari Jobe concert a while ago. I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to be there today. All of us that went actually got free tickets due to the car dealership around the corner. They were giving free tickets away and when Season and I went to go, the super nice man went out of his way to get them for us 'cause I don't think they had any left. He was so nice. It's people like that, that I appreciate. I was introduced to Warren Barfield and the All Sons and Daughters group. They have amazing songs and amazing stories! Warren Barfield is hilarious! And Kari Jobe! She was great and I think the reason why I like her so much is because she's such a Godly woman. When she speaks, she's softspoken and speaks truth. I'v narrowed down my favorite women artists to two and it'd have to be Kari Jobe and Christy Nockels. haha. :)

Tonight, there was this line that Kari Jobe had said ... something along the lines of ... "God fights for us. When we feel like life is just so overwhelming, when everything is fighting for our attention .. know that God is fighting for us. And when we're feeling overwhelmed, what we can do is just stand and be in peace..."

- I start work tomorrow but buying khakis has totally slipped my mind! I haven't even studied the recipes yet. :P I need khakis though. Maybe I'll find a way to head to the store before then since I don't work 'til 7. I don't exactly know how I feel about it yet but I guess we'll see after the first day.

- It's so late and my eyes are about to close, but I don' think I'll be sleeping tonight ... if I sleep now, I know I won't be waking up tomorrow. Plus, I have to shower and do all this and that. It's too much of a hassle to do it now.

I thought I had more to write but I'm just so tired ... maybe I'll just sleep 'til 3:30 or so. Please help me to wake earlier this next morning. I just can't afford to be late. :P

Things I've been learning ....

1) God turns what you think is impossible possible. These past couple of days, I was so sure that I was really going to have my "bad days" but God has His way of doing something to brighten it up .... whether it be a friendly conversation or a day where I don't have any homework and the day has turned completely upside down.

2) I've listened to a lot of sermons and some over again so I can fully understand. I'm trying to listen to all of the "Code Orange" sermons from each night with Elevation Church. They're so great! I was reminded that it's not about me. Often times, I drift from the reminder that it's not about me and shouldn't be. As it says in John 3:30, He must become greater and I must become less. Matt Chandler referred to the time that your frustration kicks because you're stuck in traffic ... your frustrated because "it's about you" ... or perhaps when you're nervous about giving a message ... 'cause "it's all about you" ...

Things on my mind ...
- I should write in my journals more ....
- I have so many things to do still ... 1)find a job 2)sign up for SATs 3)take SATs 4)begin applying for colleges 5)senior dues ---- those are the kinda long term things.
- Fall's comin' and I'm so excited. Dressing in layers and feelin' the cold. Darker colors and beautifully scented candles!

Anyway! That's it!

As I prayed to begin the day this morning, the raindrops hit against the bus windows. When everyone walks to their classes, each individual is bound to be hit by one drop and in the same way, our love needs to do the same. Our love should be like the drop that hits each person ... :) That has been my prayer and it's difficult, but God is able. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. - Ephesians 3:20-21

I want to say, "life's been tough ..." but it hasn't been. I think I just need a refresher and this weekend is the time to do it! I don't want to be with anybody ... just God and myself for the weekend, please. :)
