Saying bye to my last semester of college, ever!
Yay to only 18 more days until graduation! That's so insane to me 'cause I feel like I've waited forever for this single moment (but then again, I can say that about everything). I can't believe that my four years here are slowly coming to a close. What an absolute joy it's been to spend my time here in Toccoa, to finally grow up, be an adult, grow in friendships, and to experience the joy and for sure hardships of being in community. Hardships because sometimes confrontation is difficult to deal with and bringing things to light are tough, too. I've got to say though that I've definitely seen the importance of being in community and its strengths! Be in one, y'all! My prayer is that I'll find and adjust to a new community as I transition over to married life (btw, only like 50-something more days).
Over the years here, I've had my fair share of changes and while it definitely stinks sometimes, it's also encouraging as it's a reminder of the changes within/for myself that indicate temporary times here and times to come as well. So literally in the blink of an eye, I'm slowly approaching the stage to get my degree and saying bye to college for-eva - Lord willing.
What's Next?
Hello, marriage! I'm stoked for this wedding that'll be just the sweetest reunion of close friends and family. I can't say it enough ... I'm freakin' excited! I love that our wedding will host people near and far for a couple of hours. I just imagine a ton of laughter and memory making. Thanks be to God for orchestrating every detail from the timeline of mine and Jeffrey's relationship to the fast approaching wedding day + all the support we've been receiving to no end. I'm so incredibly thankful for it.
After the wedding, Jeffrey and I plan to spend the next day, Father's Day, in town with hopefully both of our fathers and then come Monday, we'll head on to our honeymoon! We've booked a cute little condo/studio that's right on the beach so a tan will be easily accessible. ;) After our honeymoon, we'll officially be home bound ... my new home, y'all. Believe me, I'm crazy excited for this transition, but very nervous to experience new things. Whenever I'm uncomfortable in new places, I always find comfort in things that I know I always experienced back at home such as the mall or the bathroom/shower because it's so similar to what I have back home. It's a silly thought and that's not to say that I'll be uncomfortable, but for sure, I'm bound to experience a little bit of homesickness.
Needless to say, this upcoming season couldn't be more ready for me! ;)
