BRIDAL SHOWER

6.24.2017

This is a post that's long overdue, but I wanted to mention it anyway! I am still blown away by the beauty that was my bridal shower. I am aware that it happened probably over two months ago. Seriously, though, every bit of it was beautiful. From the simplicity of the schedule to the minimal decor. Thanks to my wonderful bridesmaids for planning it and putting it together. I feel so undeserving, but y'all remind me that I'm loved.

Here are some photos from the lovely shower:

Goodbye, FAM!

6.22.2017

I'm currently on my honeymoon as I write this post, but know that I'm having crazy withdrawals from this weekend. It was incredibly perfect and I've loved having all of our loved ones in the same place celebrating with us. From placing chair covers on all 500 chairs to figuring out how we were going to hang the drapes from the top - everything was perfect to me and I thank every single person for their helping hand. For real, as Jeffrey and I thought back to our wedding, we only thought great things because of those who willingly helped us with what they were able to. We honestly felt blessed beyond measure to have received such love from everyone. Huge thanks to my family and my church as well as my bridal party! Even the weather cooperated which I will always be grateful for! All of this was able to happen only because the Lord would choose to bless this union. So again and again I'll say it, I'm so thankful. Praise the Lord for His unending love in which we were able to witness firsthand through this wedding.

And I don't think anything paints a better picture of my gratitude other than my thank-you speech at the wedding. At that moment, I questioned a ton why I was even crying, but my brother later pointed out that they were tears of joy and indeed, they were. I mentioned that at the beginning of this whole wedding planning thing that Jeffrey and I honestly didn't know how it'd come to be, but lo and behold, it did ... and then I cried, so there's that. Ha!

Saying goodbye really stinks, y'all. I've said it before, but it's probably the worst thing and something I very much dislike. The morning after you all (my bridesmaids) left, I felt so empty as if my life was incomplete or void of something or someone. It's what happens when you're enjoying you're enjoying time with people you love. I didn't want to say bye or separate. If I could have it my way, we'd all live in the same state. I think that's comforting enough ... haha. Ladies, I miss you all.

Yesterday, though, I had to say one of the hardest goodbyes ever. Saying bye to my family was not easy and I dreaded it all week. Just the thought of it brought me to tears so you can only imagine what a wreck I was when it actually happened. My mom said, "this is what happens when you get married. You'll have to leave and you won't ever come back to stay anymore." It saddens me to know that, but it's also a great reminder about how all of these things in life are so temporary. These goodbyes that just seem so hard are only temporary and knowing that makes it all the more bearable. Even so, I find myself missing my family a ton. It's weird to think that I'm not on a vacation and that I won't be going back home to see them. I'm officially starting a life of my own and well, it's weird! I feel like a child! Ha .... but nonetheless, I'm here. Yep, still thankful, but it sucks being away from my family.

Edit: ... a couple days later. Jeffrey and I depart from the cloudy Myrtle Beach tomorrow morning and head home. Crazy how fast this went, but excited for the next day and forever with my husband. My prayer is that each day, we'll continue to look more like Christ through the context of marriage in light of the gospel.

My family ...

My sister always worked so hard for us to have what we did. This was Easter and she provided all the candy for us to have an in-house Easter hunt! She had told everyone to stay up because she was going to do this for us, but everyone ended up falling asleep because she worked late. Yeng is happy. Ranson cried. I won the good stuff.

Surprising my mom for her birthday. This was a spontaneous one, but she was so happy.

Blurry, but Christmas time!

The same Christmas. I remember this year we didn't have much so Chris and I pitched in to pay for presents for the family. We wrapped and wrapped the night before and my parents were able to open gifts that same night. They were so happy.

I keep thinking that my family is bigger or it's like we're missing someone, but this is really it. This is a different Christmas, but I love thinking back on Christmases. We waited all night for Yeng to get home from work so we could open gifts. Ranson was actually very sick at this time and how cute is Reason?

This was orientation day for college and my parents and my brother had dropped me off.

Oh, how they've grown! This was when I graduated high school.

REASON IS SO CUTE. It was a cold and windy day, but these guys came along as Pang shot photos for my senior year of high school.

A more recent photo of us ... maybe just two summers ago when we visited MN.

Here we are in WI taking a photo by the legendary cow that doesn't seem all that big anymore.

Again, in WI.

Yes, handsome/silly brothers.
