My Amazon Favorites

6.17.2020

Sharing with you guys some of the things I've purchased on amazon in the past that I love and still use today. They're definitely more lifestyle type products, but so useful.

one // apple watch bands
I love these bands in particular because you get a pack for cheap and they're really comfortable on the skin. The band wraps around and it sits right under the flap so it's also very slimming. I wear the pink one mostly because it's a little more muted which I like.

two // black purse
I've gotten so many compliments on this bag! I love that it's a little more structured for days when I need to look a little more put together. Plus, it comes in multiple colors. The only thing I'd change is probably how small it is. It looks big, but it doesn't allot for much space inside.

three // glass amber bottle set
The best little bundle for all my oil needs. I've found that this bundle in particular helps me with all that I need to make. The amber bottle is a nice change from the clear ones, too.

four // 32 oz water bottle
I carry this with me everywhere. It's such a cute, bright pink and is so handy as it carries a ton of water. Lots of people have asked me about it surprisingly - definitely a cheaper alternative to other water bottles.

five // mac case
When I first got my macbook air, which was when I first got married and we were away in Colorado, I also purchased a white marble casing for it. I've had to replace it since then and I went with this pink one. I wanted to keep that marble look as well as a touch of feminine.

six // pet trash bag holder
Obviously this is nice only if you have a pet to pick up after. Lol. But I promise, this is so so helpful because I always forget to bring poop bags for Shepherd when we go outside and of course he always has to go when I'm without poop bags. This little holder straps right onto the leash!

seven // camera covers
For those of you who like to cover the camera on your laptops - this is for you! These are tiny little stick on covers that you can easily slide over when you need to use the webcam for zooms, etc. I stick them on and they're so minimal, I barely even notice it.

What are some of your favorites and go-tos?

3 YEARS OF MARRIAGE

6.14.2020

Jeff and I are getting ready to celebrate three years of marriage come June 17th. We're a little chubbier, have a couple more strands of white hair (whyyyyy) and have moved so many times, but I've never been more thankful to get to do this life with Jeff.

I can't quite put it into words, but let's just say this: I'm so glad that God is the One who's all-knowing and not me. Praise God for these past couple years of marriage.

xoxo!

A Road Trip Playlist

6.12.2020

Happy Friday, friends! Today, we're headed out on a road trip to visit the midwest. I don't particularly enjoy road trips all too much (anymore), but there are tons of things I bring/do to make the trip a little more worthwhile. Sharing with y'all a playlist that's for sure going to be playing during our 8-hr long drive. There's a vast difference in many of the songs, but I love all of them and I think they'd make for such a fun drive. I've found that whenever Jeff and I take road trips, we'll have many rounds of different genres that we enjoy listening to depending on how we feel ... so these are totally songs we'd sing! I also wanted to suggest a couple other things that you could do if you're planning for a long road trip in the future.

Listen to Podcasts:
+ Glorious in the Mundane // This is by Christy Nockels whom I've loved and adored for years! Her podcast centers around "finding the wonder of God at work in the everyday." It's so so good.

Download Kindle Books:
+ As y'all know, I'm currently walking through a couple books that I've purchased and they're all in my kindle. It makes for easy reading on the go although I do enjoy an actual book from time to time.

Engage in conversation:
+ Road trips are honestly some of the moments when Jeff and I have some of our best conversations. There's nothing like sitting in a car for countless hours with an unending highway. It's moments like these that beg for honest conversations and those are always the best.

Play road games:
+ This always involves songs for us. We'd pick random songs and try to guess either the author or the song title. We're not very good at this game though seeing that Jeffrey isn't good at song titles and I never remember any lyrics, so it defeats much of the game itself. I used to always play this with my brother, Chris, and it's so nostalgic for me.

Pack healthy foods/snacks:
+ Something about a trip makes me want to indulge and go crazy because it's a fun time, but opt out of the unhealthy and pack things like fresh fruit and sparkling water!

xoxo!

April Recap 2020 - Lots of Randoms!

6.05.2020

Seeing that we're already in June, I figured it was time to get my monthly updates. Stay-at-home orders were in full swing and it was wild! I think we're finally on the other end of it as orders are slowly being lifted and life is getting back to normal again - thankful.

Spent a lot of time on Marco Polo catching up with my family and friends. I'm so thankful for this app as it's keeping me in the loop though I'm far from home.

Technology has been great especially in these moments, but I'm convinced that we were not made to simply connect over technology. In this season of staying home, I've not yearned to get out and see fresh faces more than now.

Lots of board games and games in general.

We celebrated Grandpa's 100th birthday. We made plans for everyone to come and join in on the part, but it had to be canceled, so we baked a cake and ordered some pizza and called it good. He still loves pizza even at 100.

We've had a lot of nights that look like this. Jeff reads through his textbooks, Shepherd chills, and I'm on the bed with my laptop and a movie.

Entered into two official months at my current work place. It's honestly been pretty great and there's not much to complain about even if I wanted to. The place I worked at in Kansas was pretty small, but my office (we have multiple offices, but the business itself is pretty big) here is even smaller and I'm surprisingly okay with it.

Made a trip to the gas station. Ha! Wow.
Fun fact: If ever I am low on gas, I will literally drive home and have Jeffrey take us to go get gas. There's something about getting gas on my own that I hate so much. It just feels so unsafe for me. Haha. Of course I've had the privilege of working close to home so my gas thankfully makes it every time.

I hit a senior star rank with young living -- so excited about that!

Ordered my dress for Esther's wedding, but ended up hating the style of it - so returned that one. Ordered another one and I love it so we're all ready to go!

Jeff and I worked through our taxes and did most of it on our own. To my surprise, it really isn't that hard ... just so glad to be done with it.

I started Keto! It's supposed to be a reset so I'm not relying heavily on carbs to burn energy - aka not carb dependent, but it's been a work in progress!

Lots of walking with Shepherd for our health, for his health, and to enjoy the nice spring weather.

I love how Shepherd is growing aware of reflections. He learned to look at us through the mirror - it's hilarious.

xoxo.
