MERRY CHRISTMAS 2021

12.22.2021

Merry Christmas, friends!

Tonight, we are celebrating with family, camping out in the living room, pjs and all. I pray that this season would be a sweet reminder of the Lord's goodness in your life.

TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS: COLORADO IN AUGUST

12.13.2021

In August, we got the chance to visit Colorado for a little bit. Any time we get to make a trip out to visit Colorado is such a win. The mountains are incredible and so breathtaking. We started out by visiting our family and then end the leg of our trip at the pastoral conference. It was a calm and relaxing weekend!

I wasn't sure how Noah would do with the altitude - he did great, of course! However, he was actually teething this week. His bottom two teeth broke through and he was in such pain. Thankfully, the later end of the week, he started feeling so much better and was able to enjoy the week.

I didn't realize how cool the weather would be and totally didn't think to pack any warmer clothes. Now I know better!

Ugh. I'm just so thankful I get to do this with my little family.

TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS: MICHIGAN IN JULY

12.11.2021

We made a quick trip to Michigan for a friend's wedding. Jeff was a part of the wedding party so Noah and I got to watch him from the seats.

We ended up getting to sit next to him and the rest of the wedding party. This was the best photo we could get. By this time, Noah was pretty much ready for a nap. He actually started to fall asleep as we were talking around the table! Such a cutie!

HOW TO: Gingerbread Ornaments

12.10.2021

Comin' at ya with another easy diy ornament. This can easily be turned into a fun tradition with your kiddos each year. I love the idea of seeing them grow as gingerbread! I have a gingerbread template up in my shop here or you can find a printable online.

I would say sizing the face to fit into the template is the only thing that could potentially be hard, but other than that, so easy! Mark the date and your child's age to remember his/her first Christmas!

Noah was fascinated with all of it. He's at the age where he wants to get a hold of anything and everything and it eventually makes its way into his mouth. I love making these sweet memories with him.

HOW TO: Salt Dough Ornaments

12.09.2021

This is, by far, the easiest diy you will ever do! My favorite part is that it looks like you put a ton of effort into it, but it truly doesn't require much. Just a few ingredients and a few hours later and you'll have a fun, easy ornament that'll last a lifetime. A plus is that it works wonders as a fun sensory activity also.

Start by gathering your ingredients (salt, flour, water, and a bowl to mix it all in). Keep in mind…you could easily double it! Literally, mix it all together and mold. A hand or footprint is the easiest, but you could get real creative and do cookie cutouts with it. I love the idea of getting to see Noah's hand grow each year, so I stuck with that.

Was it developmentally appropriate? Haha. Probably not considering he almost ate the salty thing, but it was fun to do together and even if he doesn't remember it now, I will.

There ya go, friends. Enjoy the fun stuff!

A HOLIDAY PLAYLIST FOR YOUR FESTIVE NEEDS

Never underestimate a good holiday playlist. I feel like this playlist is true to my taste and style. I love the mellow moods, but with some classic tunes. I truly do love my good ol' hymnals also.

Enjoy the holidays, friends!

TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS: WISCONSIN IN JUNE

Still here and trying to get all of our travel highlights done before the new year hits. In June, we made our way to Wisconsin for a week as Jeff joined in on annual conference. He was in a lot of meetings and I asked forced my sister-in-law to join me so Noah and I wouldn't be bored at the hotel. It felt spontaneous!

Noah was only 4 months here. I get all the wide smiles when I look back at these photos and see how small he was. Time is truly so short. I found myself wishing away a lot of moments, not because I really wanted it to go faster, but because those times were truly hard for me. If I'm being honest though, I don't think I would have grown as a mom without the vulnerability of me saying, "Gosh, these times are hard." I don't regret saying it and I believe there is no wrong in saying so — just that much more room for the Lord to work in my heart as a growing mom.

In the very early days of motherhood, I felt the pressure almost immediately. However, as quick as that pressure came on, it fell shortly after because I learned very quickly how damaging it can be to new moms (and moms in general). I'm not about the business of comparing who I am as a mother to anyone else's version of what it means/looks like to mother children.

I loved seeing you, Mai!!!!

Our first conference together as a family.

Our little morning routine:

9am - wake up
Quick feed
Get Noah ready
Put Noah down
Wash his bottles
Get myself ready

12pm - lunch

2pm - back to the room
Noah's nap time
Jeff in meetings

4pm - get ready for evening services
more feedings for Noah

7pm - evening services

*more naps and feedings sprinkled in between*

I love this last photo of Noah. I wasn't sure how he would do with the noise level of worship music and clapping, etc so I bought these noise cancelling ear muffs. He actually liked them! Each evening service was hard because it fell near his nap time. The first day, he didn't make it past worship, but every day after, he was able to go a little longer each time. On the last day, we were able to sit through the entire service!

TRAVEL HIGHLIGHTS: FLORIDA IN SEPTEMBER

12.07.2021

Wrapping up my travel highlights series with our trip to Florida! My parents have never been to the beach before so we took them. We rented out the cutest little place in Panama City. It came with a private pool in the back which was so nice because unfortunately we couldn't even enjoy the actual beach. Nonetheless, we still got to see it.

I never used to enjoy the summer, but after living in the north for almost 2 years, I was craving the sun and tan lines!

Morning coffees on vacation just tastes so comforting.

Just a casual day in the pool.

Noah loves the water!

I'll cherish these times forever!
