Baking is supposed to be easy.

5.30.2012

Not that it's hard, but it never turns out right. :P These are my Peanut Butter Cookies that I attempted to make this morning. Seriously simple. They look alright, but they're hard as rocks. haha. Baking just ain't for me! So ... I'm just gonna stop for now and in the mean time, I'll just work on other things like ... working out and cleaning more and reading my Bible more and ... just doing other things. :)

This week seems to be passing by so slowly! The other day, I went back to watch all the Hlub '09 videos and now I'm a bit more excited .... and the more I think about it, the more I realize that I don't remember much about it. haha. And the more I look forward to it, the slower time seems to be passing by. haha.

That's all for now.

Parents + Love

5.28.2012

My parents have never been the kind to push their children into doing things, whether good or bad. They'll encourage us to get good grades or to do better and they'll correct us when they feel that what we're doing is wrong, but never "pushy." And I understand that there are some parents who do push their children and that's simply how they work with 'em ... but my parents, I love that they've never pushed me into being a super smart Asian girl or that they've never pushed me into playing sports or playing an instrument ... because as much as I wanted to play sports for school while growing up, it teaches me to do things on my own. Just now, I asked for my SS card so that I can begin applying for jobs ... and my parents sounded so proud that I was thinking about applying for jobs. "Where are you going to apply?" "Ohhh, that's gooood!" Not once have they asked me to start applying for jobs. They'll joke about it ... but they've never insisted that I find a job since I am able to now. ;)

Finding a job is something that I've been trying to do ... but never actually did. I really need a job - that's for sure!

1) My brother helping me cook
2) Reason's niceness ... haha.
3) Relaxation
4) No mosquito bites today ... considering how long I stood outside. ;)

"Photography", Lists & Lamps

I've been sitting in the same spot since morning. My morning consisted of ....

- Making breakfast for my brothers. It was such a peaceful morning.
- Pandora. Had it playing for forever and it's still playing ....  :)
- Cleaning out my book bag filled with old paper that needed to be recycled! Speaking of cleaning, going through my photography folder was fun! Karissa, you would've probably liked that class. Looking back at it now, I did kind of like it. haha. :)
- Making lists to help me remember things ...
- Lastly, trying to think of creative ways to make little paper lamps or lanterns for tomorrow. Uh, not creative at all. haha!

When The Gas Light Appears ...

5.23.2012

Don't you just hate it when that lights pops on and you've got little to no money and quite a while to go before you reach the nearest gas station? Oh man. I just feel like every time that happens, we're gonna get stranded out on the road. As Reason and I, along with my parents, were driving home today, the light turned on! We were driving through the "country" roads and had a while left until we would reach the gas station and all I could think to myself was ... "Please don't die on this road now. Pleeeease don't!" haha. I feel like God is teaching me so much in somewhat little situations such as this. I once read somewhere that worrying only wastes time ... and it reaaaally does! It's such a waste of my thinking time. I could be thinking of other things, you know? ;) ... but God is good --- and as my family goes through this "financial" issue, please pray for us to fully trust in God. I'm not as worried as I thought I'd be but sometimes it can get pretty tough. Anyway, we made it home!

Did you know? After your gas light comes on, you're still able to drive for a good 50 to 60 miles until you fully run out of gas. Wow .... fact. of. the. day. :)

On a different note .... today, I'm thankful for 1) today, 'cause it was the last day of school! haha ... and 2) for the little things like sitting in the car with my parents or laughing with my mom and bros. 3) I'm thankful for makin' it home with the little bit of gas in the car and for 4) the volleyball games I got to play with Mindy, her sister, and her boyfriend. 5) Also, for the yummy food my dad brought home today!

Into The Summertime.

It's finally Summer! I say that every time I begin to write on the last day of school - which was today! It's just one less thing I'll have to worry about for the time being and man, I love not having to worry about school. As I begin this summer, I wanted to make sure that I make it a productive one. Seriously! I love feeling productive and it doesn't happen often. Looking back on last year, I remember myself sleeping in most days, if not all, and I felt like such a bum! This summer, I want to wake up early and run as the sun rises and be able to read God's word in the morning and be able to have dinner ready to eat for the family, have limited internet time, & memorize Scripture .... things like that. :) I just want to do ... new things. When was the last time you did something for the first time? :)

"A summer surrendered to the Lord becomes a grand opportunity for much spiritual growth and strengthening." - setapartgirl
As I read in this month's online issue of Set Apart Girl .... just because school's out doesn't mean that we do anything and everything out of routine. It's good to wake up early - as usual - to remember God in the morning, so that means, no, don't stay up all night or no, don't pull one of those all-nighters. ;) I've done that before and waking up the next day takes a lot of effort.

So to start off the Summer, for today, maybe I'll begin to clean my room and rearrange it as well throughout the week. haha. I'm gonna go running with my brother on that trail near us ... it's so convenient. :) Then, we'll see what happens from here on out.

Have a GREAT Summer!

Thankful Thursday

5.10.2012

- Though this week has been so hectic and filled with a lot of last
minute things, I'm so thankful for the strength only from the Provider.
I thought it was going to be one crazy week, but Praise the LORD!
- Got the good news of passsssssing my graduation test this morning.
- Thankful for today's goood, good weather.
- Strength today to have stayed up in each class.
- For the same sun that rose again this morning.
- and the Son who chooses to love me still.

Praise the Lord! How good to sing praises
to our God! How delightful and how fitting!
- Psalm 147:1

- SCHOOL is almost out. Only three more weeks left and I'm out! I'll finally be a senior and then after that, I can finally go to college! It's crazy how fast high school has gone by. I can remember Freshmen year so clearly - like it was just yesterday! I'm really looking forward to graduation day though. Walking is so exciting and I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to walk. It's an amazing thing to do! You get to walk the walk and show that you've finally finished SCHOOL. From 1st grade to 12th ... why would you not want to walk after 12 years? :)

- MAY. It's already May .... MAY! As I was saying, time is moving by so fast! I sometimes feel so overwhelmed, but then I'm reminded that when I'm weak, He is strong. We're nearly halfway through the year as of now! Just unbelievable.

- Sister recently cut my hair .... although I feel like she put no effort into it, I still appreciate the fact that she did it. I really needed a trim or "haircut". I'm hoping it'll grow out soon and FAST. I really don't match short hair at all and as much as I wish I did, I just don't. I believe it's my round face. Round faces aren't pretty at all ... haha. :)

- Summer! It can be exciting or quite dreadful. Finally, weather's warmin' up again, but it sure does get warm! My parents rarely turn the AC on so I'm dying little by little each day. It's horrible. But on the plus side, I'm looking forward to Hlub this year in June. I think it'll be great for the younger girls in youth and an awesome opportunity to take picturesssss! :)

- Heart. Going through things, but I'm constantly reminded about God and how He remains the same even though I've been a waver. I finally got the courage to tell "this guy" that we should no longer "talk" ... and it's off my shoulders now. For a long while, it started to become a burden. The longer I held it in, the harder it was, but finally, it's over and done and honestly, I think it's for the better. Nothing good was going to come out of it and it was foolish to have gotten in such a situation anyway. Going through it was good though. It taught me that though I thought I was ready for a "relationship", I am, indeed, not. In singleness, I will search for God and His answers and follow His will to lead me to the point in which I will be ready.
