SUNDAY SCHOOL & STUFF

3.25.2013

You guys, it's 3am and it's a Sunday night and I'm going to regret this so many times tomorrow, but oh well! *long sigh ... because I'm aware of what's to come.*

Each weekend, I get the honor and privilege of teaching these two. They're total opposites, but everything they do, it rubs off on one another, whether that be good or bad. They're so different, but so alike. Today, we became investigators. As we made our fake magnifying glasses out of card stock and popsicle sticks, I gave them the "clue of the day" and it said to look for three names with matching pictures. Timothy is the one to the right and as sweet as he is, he can be a total smart mouth sometimes - literally though! He's so smart! Sometimes I just want to yell at him and say things I wouldn't mean - nothing too bad - but I'm glad I don't because at the end of the day, children truly learn from those around them. Anyway, as I expected him to lay back and wait as everyone else searched for the pictures, he didn't. He was in fact the first to get up and I was blown away and so incredibly happy!"Let's go!" he says. Aiden, the one on the right, sat there and said, "I'm just too lazy!" Uh, what? haha. He's so silly sometimes! He eventually ran out the door though! That's the "rubbing off each other" part. I love teaching these kids and I'm trying to give my all as I do --- but at the end of the day, it's not about me. It's always going to be about God! I'm so thankful for that reminder each day.

So that's what's been goin' on.

On a different note, I have, yet again, found my love for oatmeal! Well, I don't think I ever forgot about it, I just ran out and haven't had any to eat for a long time. I sure do love oatmeal though. It's so quick and easy, satisfying-kinda, and fulfilling-kinda. This is the first time I've tried it with chocolate chips. I think it's safe to say that chocolate chips with anything is good! I've been spending a lot of my time looking for easy and somewhat healthy foods to eat while I'm in college and yeah, this may be my breakfast every morning. I'm serious. We'll see though.

It's officially Monday and I have approximately 20 minutes before I really start my day. Some breakfast, Jesus time and journaling, quick quuuuuick workout. I'm talkin' 10 high knees? ;)

Here's the verse that I've been memorizing this past week:

Keep watch and pray so that you may not fall into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
- Mark 14:38

This next week is going to be tough but here's a little pep talk I heard the other week: The tomb is empty. Nothing is impossible! It took me a little more time to really sink that in when I first heard it. It's so powerful and because Jesus is alive, we have nothing to lose and nothing is impossible for us if we just believe. So I'm choosing to believe today!
