Hey y'all.
Happy almost-hump-day day.
I'm glad it's Tuesday 'cause it means I'm one day closer to my day off. Ha!
Anyway, I'm checking in this week to write about my health. Last month, as I was getting things checked off of my list of things to do for work, the lady at Med Check told me "You must be pretty healthy since you said no to everything" (referring to my medical history and what not) ... to which I replied with a chuckle and a "yeah!" I mean, it's kind of true. I rarely get sick and for that, I'm extremely thankful.
But the downside of this job has been the fact that I don't receive any benefits (which kind of stinks since I'm a full time worker and a part of me wishes that I would've waited to accept this position - but definitely still grateful for a job and their leniency for my vacation days). So anyway, since I don't get benefits, that most definitely means that I currently am not insured (not the end of the world, but it easily could be ... haha).
I'm encouraged to take care of my health even more now. Not only that, but Jeffrey and I really want to consider our health as we are definitely growing older and being mindful of our future. I've started to wean off the sugar as it's been something that has really plateaued this weight loss/taking-care-of-myself thing. I started about a week ago or so and it's been going pretty well. I wanted to do it until my brother's wedding so I can feel decent in my bridesmaid dress ... haha! I'll have days where I'll just feel so blubberish in my own skin and I was so tired of feeling like that. Now that I don't have the excuse of having "too much to do," I can begin to focus more on taking care of this body and ultimately just being a good steward. So again, the no sugar thing has been going well. I just cut out a lot of refined sugars which included candy, baked goods, etc. And as bad as it may sound, I still included the creamer in my coffee, but in my defense, I add a very little amount, so it's less than 5g or so!
Also, Jeffrey and I started running again. Granted, it's only been two days, but I feel so good about having a little activity in our schedules again. There's nothing to do here, so we've really had to make sure that we're cutting down on the eating out (which we rarely do because we're trying to save up!) and including more times to get in the activity. :) I'm feeling positive about this, y'all, because it's been 5 MONTHS since I've gotten a really good workout/exercise. That's just sad, but this is a good place to start again.
So yep, just an update on the health side of life.
OTHER LITTLE UPDATES //
+ I've been kicking it back old school with some Colbie Caillat. She brings me back to simpler days.
+ The BAI drinks have been a frequent purchase because they're pretty tasty. I enjoy the Peach one, the watermelon one, and the dragon fruit one.
+ To gear up for the holidays, I've been watching a ton of cheesy hallmark Christmas movies during my break at work. They really aren't that good and you'll find that Gretchen Wieners from Mean Girls is like .... in every Christmas Hallmark movie (not even kidding), but other than that, you'll find a good one every so often. It just gets me excited for the holidays and Christmas season is truly my favorite time of the year!
+ Speaking of .... the other day, we bought plane tickets to go home for the holidays! So stinkin' excited and already making plans for what we'll do when we get back home!
That's all, folks.
