My Morning Routine

4.16.2020

I've been talking about routine a lot. To put it plainly, over the course of my unemployment days, my main goal was to hone in on my little morning routine. Instead of waking up rushed and flustered, I make it a goal to wake up knowing exactly what to do to get going. It's in those few couple things you do every morning, ya know? I love being intentional about those little things to ensure that the day starts off well ... but don't overdo it at the same time. ;)

It looks different for everyone, but here are the few things I do each morning (heavy emphasis on few):

1. Get the diffuser going. If you know me in real life, then you know oils are a big part of my life. I make sure to have water in a jug already ready so that in the morning, I can put some oils in quickly and turn it on asap. It smells clean and the noise of a diffuser is so calming.

2. My outfit is already picked out. If not, then I at least have an idea of what I'm going to wear and where those pieces are. I don't physically lay them out 'cause that's just not me, but in my mind, I know where it is. It gives me a little piece of mind, too, honestly.

3. Time in the Word. I'm gonna be honest here and say that I don't get to do this ... honestly, it's like 30% of the time do I wake up early enough to do it. But on those days, it's always so so good for my heart to start each day rooted in truth.

4. I know everything I'm grabbing. I always take a couple snacks, all the liquids (think coffee, Ningxia, a water thermos) and my keys! It's the little things that get me through a long work day.

Don't make it hard. In fact, make it so so simple. Like I said, it's going to look different for everyone, but establish the things you need to do in the morning and get rid of the rest.

xoxo,
Heaven
